Conflict Minerals Policy

Conflict Minerals refer to gold (Au), tantalum (Ta), tungsten (W), and tin (Sn), as well as any other specific minerals that may be subject to future regulation by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI).

These minerals are considered "conflict" if they originate from mines controlled by illegal armed groups in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) or its adjoining countries. The proceeds from their extraction, trade, or export may finance these unlawful armed groups. These illicit mining profits are essentially stolen from the local citizens, severely contributing to human rights abuses and environmental degradation.

Respect for human rights and environmental protection is one of the core principles of ASMedia's social responsibility development. Since 2021, we have been adhering to the RMI put forth by international organizations such as the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) and the Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI). We require our suppliers to complete the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template to certify that the metals used in our products are sourced from compliant sources. ASMedia also provides conflict minerals survey results to customers as required. By taking action, we uphold our commitment to the social responsibility principle of insisting on not using conflict minerals.

ISO Series Certification and ASMedia Policies

Hazardous Substance Prohibition Policy To make our products more eco-friendly, we continuously monitor our supply chain’s compliance with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS), the European Union’s Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulations and relevant laws and regulations. Since 2011, we not only obtain laboratory reports from our suppliers in a timely manner, but also conduct supplier evaluations of relevant implementation items. All of our qualified suppliers need to meet requirements on prohibition of hazardous substances. Moreover, we provide a declaration of no use of hazardous substances for our customers and commit to only use safe materials and components that satisfy environmental standards, including the RoHS, the PFOS/ PFOA criteria, the Halogen Free requirements, as well as the REACH Regulations on Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC). Environmental Responsibility Policy At ASMedia we are committed to corporate social responsibility (CSR). We follow the following four main strategies while developing the environmental responsibility policy: reducing carbon emissions, recycling and using renewable energy, providing community engagement services and value creation, and adhering to sustainable manufacturing principles. Supplier Code of Conduct

The purpose of the Supplier Code of Conduct is to specify the expectations of ASMedia Technology Inc. on all suppliers and the subcontractors, distributors and other business partners , in order to ensure that their operating activities comply with the highest standard of the RBA (Responsible Business Alliance) Code of Conduct. The objective of this Code is to promote the integrity, human rights, environmental sustainable development and business implementation of health and safety, and to also ensure the transparency and traceability of the supply chain.

ASMedia designs and sells IC chips but does not manufacture the silicon wafers (i.e., a fabless company). We have achieved and maintained the ISO 9001 certification since 2010.

ISO 14001 certification

ASMedia has obtained the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certification through the BSI’s verification in October 2023. In addition to establishing the environmental responsibility policy, we advocate policies on environmental conservation, energy-saving and resource reuse in the workplace. We fully implement the relevant policies.

ISO 14064-1 certification

Our company obtained the 2024 ISO 14064-1 Greenhouse Gas Verification Certificate for ASMedia, issued by BSI (British Standards Institution), in June 2025. We hope that by confirming our greenhouse gas emissions, we can develop effective strategies to reduce emissions and minimize our impact on climate change. External verification of our greenhouse gas data will continue to be conducted annually.

ASMedia passed UKAS verification in August 2025 and obtained the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System certificate. Our company's occupational health and safety policy is to implement hazard prevention and pollution control to ensure a safe, hygienic, environmentally friendly, and healthy work environment.

Asmedia successfully achieved ISO 27001:2022 certification for our Information Security Management System (ISMS) in October 2025, verified by SGS.The certification process enabled us to establish a systematic information security management framework, which enhances our corporate efficiency in managing information security, ensures the protection of customer data, and strengthens our capabilities in regulatory compliance, security incident response, and long-term operational stability.

Environmental Violations

We have not paid any significant fines (amounting to more than US$10,000) related to environmental or ecological issues in the last eight fiscal years (2017-2024).

Environmental Protection

We are committed to environmental protection. We insist on no wastewater nor flue gas discharge. We not only advocate various policies on "environmental protection,” “energy saving and carbon reduction" as well as "resource recycling," but also carry them out thoroughly. The relevant policies are as follows:

Implement waste segregation and waste dry cell battery recycling.
Give away eco-friendly utensils and straws to the staff and encourage them to reduce waste of resources by using these utensils.
Use eco-friendly ink and toner cartridges at work.
The source of paper that we use for printing comes from “Paper From Farmed Trees,” which supports preservation of native forests and sustainable ecological system.
Conduct energy awareness activities to encourage the staff to turn off lights or appliances when they do not need them.
Conduct daily regular energy-saving inspections of all the offices. Turn off the lights for one hour during lunch break.
Encourage the staff to use stairs instead of taking elevators during working hours.
Use energy-saving LED lights in the office area.
Use motion sensor lights in the stairwells to prevent lights from turning on unnecessary.
Reduce the usage of paper by continuously converting existing paper forms to electronic formats and improving the entire processes. The goal is to reduce the paper usage.
Organize the “10,000 steps” campaign daily to encourage all the staff to take the stairs when traveling between floors, so that we can get a good workout and save energy at the same time.
Install water flow restrictors in the pantry rooms and restrooms.
Use dual flush toilets in all the offices, which can effectively save 50% of water.

Environmental Activities

ASMedia Joined the《Earth Hour》Campaign in 2024

The global warming has become a worldwide issue. The simplest way for us to protect the planet is to turn off lights or appliances when we do not need them. This will help us to save energy as well as reduce our carbon footprint. ASMedia joined the Earth Hour campaign by turning off lights for one hour. We invited all the staff to turn off all unnecessary lights from 8:30PM to 9:30PM (Local time) on March 23, 2024.

Kenting Manzhou Beach Cleanup: Protect Taiwan's Marine Ecosystem

According to the estimation of a research team from the University of Georgia, humans add 8 million metric tons of plastic waste to the ocean each year. As marine species ingest plastic debris, this has harmed the oceans around the world as well as coastal ecosystems, thus affecting human health on a global scale. Although beach cleanups may have a limited effect, what we care more about is our next generation’s environmental education. In 2023, ASMedia called on employees and their families to participate in a beach cleaning event at Kenting Manzhou Beach, and sponsored the ‘ Kuroshio Ocean Education Foundation ’ to carry out whale and dolphin conservation work. Each person has the power to change our life. Let’s protect marine life and our oceans together!

ASMedia Echoed the “Do One Thing for Tamsui River” Campaign Message

As the impacts of climate change have worsened, not only the freshwater ecosystem but also the 8 million people who live along the river have experienced the negative consequences that climate change has brought about. Nearly 3% of the Tamsui River is seriously contaminated, which is a result of both domestic and industrial wastewater emissions. We need to become water citizens, and take actions to protect the aquatic ecosystem together!
